Abstract

This project presents a proposed design for a Social Centre intended to serve the Sabon Gari community in Zaria, Kaduna State. The aim is to provide a functional, inclusive, and culturally relevant facility that will cater to the social, educational, recreational, and economic needs of residents. The design integrates a multi-purpose hall, ICT and library facilities, vocational training rooms, youth recreation spaces, administrative offices, and outdoor activity areas, including an amphitheatre and children's playground. Emphasis is placed on sustainability, cultural aesthetics, accessibility, and community participation. The proposed Social Centre is envisioned as a hub that fosters unity, promotes youth empowerment, encourages lifelong learning, and enhances the overall well-being of the Sabon Gari population. The project responds to the urgent need for structured community development through infrastructure that reflects local values and supports social progress.
