The study Impact of guidance and counseling on subject selection among senior secondary school gwale local government area, kano state. The Objectives of the Study are to find out the impact of Guidance and counselling services on subject selection among Senior Secondary School students in Gwale Local Government Area, Kano State, to examine the extent on how orientation service influence Subject selection among Senior Secondary Schools students in Gwale Local Government area, Kano State,. Based on these objectives four corresponding research questions were formulated. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study consists of the 6,305 Senior Secondary School Students of Gwale Local Government, Kano State with a sample size of 250. The research instruments used for data collection in this study is Questionnaire for Students namely 'Impact of guidance and counseling on subject selection questionnaire (IGCSSG)'. Validity and reliability of the instrument was obtained and the correlation coefficient of 0.62 was established. Descriptive statistics in forms of mean and standard deviation was used to analyze the research questions. {The study found out that, the extent guidance and counselling services impact on the subject selection among senior secondary school students in Gwale Local Government Area, kano state is improving the quality of students on subject selection among senior secondary school students of gwale local government area, the extent how orientation services influence Subject selection in Senior Secondary Schools in Gwale Local Government Area Kano State, orientation services influence Subject selection in Senior Secondary Schools in Gwale Local government area kano state, the extent counselling service influence students Subject selection in Senior Secondary Schools in Gwale Local Government Area Kano State is helping yield positive counselling service influence students Subject selection in Senior Secondary Schools in Gwale Local Government Area Kano State}. The study recommended that The state government through various agencies of the Ministry of Education such as Post Primary School Management Board should endeavor to organize periodic conferences, seminars and workshops for guidance counsellors in the State School System.
