Abstract

This project report is the complete study to the design and analysis of a drainage structure for Uyo township road (from Ikom market to Ibom Plaza), using the rational method. The objectives of the project are to design a new drain section, analyze the forces acting on it and to prepare a reinforcement schedule for the new drain section. Rainfall data is necessary for the hydrology design and was used for hydraulic design and reinforcement schedule. AutoCAD civil 3D was used to design the section, the main objective behind the design of the drain is to create a suitable drain that can accommodate the run-off from precipitation and those from residential areas. The chainage opens at station 0+000 and closes at station 1+500.
