AUTOMATION OF DEPARTMENTAL COURSE ALLOCATION AND TIME TABLE: A CASE STUDY OF YUSUF MAITAMA SULE UNIVERSITY KANO
Abstract
The process of course allocation and timetable scheduling in universities is often prone to errors, inefficiencies, and inconsistencies due to manual handling. This research aims to design and implement an automated system for departmental course allocation and timetable management in Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano. The system is developed using web technologies such as PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to enable efficient scheduling, conflict detection, and real-time updates. The study highlights the challenges of manual timetable allocation and proposes a systematic approach to address these issues using an optimized algorithm. The implementation of this system will enhance efficiency, reduce scheduling conflicts, and improve the overall academic planning process.*
