DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A SOLAR POWERED OBSTACLE AVOIDANCE ROBOT FOR AGRICULTURAL APPLICATION
Abstract
This paper presents the design and implementation of a solar-powered obstacle avoidance robot for
agricultural applications. The robot is designed to navigate autonomously through agricultural fields,
avoiding obstacles such as plants, rocks, and other obstructions. The system utilizes solar panels for power
enhancing its sustainability and operational efficiency. The robot‟s navigation system integrates ultrasonic
sensors for obstacle detection and an Arduino-based microcontroller for processing sensor data and
controlling the robot's movement. The study evaluates the robot's performance in terms of obstacle
detection accuracy, navigation efficiency, and power consumption. Results demonstrate the robot's ability
to effectively navigate through a simulated agricultural environment, highlighting its potential for various
agricultural tasks, including crop monitoring and precision spraying, while minimizing environmental
impact through solar energy utilization.
