Abstract

ABSTRACT This project was motivated by the critical need to address the persistent challenges of academic resource accessibility faced by Computer Science students at LAUTECH, Ogbomoso. The primary objective was to design and implement a specialized e-learning website that serves as a centralized digital repository. The platform aims to provide seamless access to essential study materials, including digital course manuals (PDFs), a structured archive of past examination questions, and interactive, course-based quizzes, thereby facilitating early preparation and enhancing the overall learning experience. The system was developed using a modern, full-stack technology stack comprising React.js for a dynamic frontend, Node.js with Express.js for a robust backend server, and MongoDB for flexible data management. The entire development process was guided by the Agile methodology, enabling iterative refinement based on continuous user feedback. This approach ensured the creation of a responsive and user-friendly interface that is optimized for performance across both desktop and mobile devices. Rigorous testing protocols, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and performance benchmarking, were employed to validate the system's functionality, usability, and reliability. The implemented platform successfully empowers students by facilitating early access to course materials and enabling continuous self-assessment, thereby streamlining exam preparation. For administrators, it provides robust tools for efficient content management and curation. Evaluation results from user testing confirmed the system's high effectiveness, demonstrating an 82% task completion rate without assistance and an 80% reduction in the time required for students to access study resources. These findings highlight the platform's significant role in enhancing study efficiency and academic readiness, effectively overcoming traditional institutional resource distribution bottlenecks. This project demonstrates the transformative potential of tailored digital solutions in a specific academic context. It serves as a scalable model for departmental-level academic support, contributing a practical framework for integrating centralized resource repositories with self-assessment tools. The study provides valuable insights into the implementation of agile development and user-centered design in educational technology. Recommendations for future work to extend the platform's impact include the integration of advanced analytics, gamification elements, offline capabilities, and expansion to other departments.
