EFFECTS OF INFLATION ON ECONOMIC GROWTH IN NIGERIA
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study (a case study of the Federal Polytechnic Offa) looks at recruiting and selection as
instruments for an organization's employees to work effectively and efficiently. Employee
productivity is the antecedent or predictor variable, whereas the selection procedure is the
criteria or explanatory variable. Data was gathered for the study using a questionnaire. Fifty
respondents were chosen at random from public organizations at Federal Polytechnic Offa in
Kwara State to provide the data. Tables, frequencies, and percentages were used to illustrate the
data, and an independent t-test analytical tool was used to test the study hypotheses. The
outcomes of the study revealed that, there is a considerable difference between the selection
process adopted by the public sector of organizations and the productivity they attained by
adopting such selection process. Additionally, it was found that similar criteria affect the
selection process in public sector enterprises. Therefore, the study suggests that public sector
organizations should develop a systematic and rational selection process and continually adhere
to it without deviations in order to have healthy and suitable staff capable of reaching high
productivity. Additionally, during the selecting process, they should always take into account
elements like geography, experience, education, and so on without any bias, discrimination, or
favoritism.
