Abstract

ABSTRACT The project presents a telemedicine software that aims to offer remote interaction between patient and healthcare provider (doctor, nurse, specialist) when it is unsafe and not possible to visit hospitals. The software also provide easy scheduling of clinical appointments so patients can easily book consultations with healthcare providers they prefer using an intuitive interface that is constructed from HTML5 tags and styled with CSS. This interface is seamlessly integrated with a MongoDB database for effective data management to deliver a seamless user experience. The software backend is developed using JavaScript and Node.js they offers extremely high performance and flexibility, effectively replacing conventional in-person consultations. The software also has a secure messaging platform for texts that guarantees instant communication, with patients having the ability to inquire and raise concerns without needing actual visits, thus forming an integrated relationship with healthcare professionals. It also has better video conferencing capabilities to enable face-to-face consultations that mimic in-person appointments, particularly useful for follow-ups. The software also offers a secure, centralized platform for managing medical records, allowing patients to be in charge of their health information. The store-and-forward capability allows patients to send medical information and documents to healthcare providers prior to consultations so that health professionals have all the information necessary to make informed decisions. Finally, the electronic prescription capability simplifies the process of prescriptions. Overall, the telemedicine software will replace the process of in-person visitation when there is a viral outbreak to protect both patients and healthcare-providers.
