AN ASSESSMENT OF RISK MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES AND PERFORMANCE OF SMALL -SCALE BUSINESSES IN OGBOMOSO, OYO STATE, NIGERIA.
Abstract
The abstract summarizes the entire study by presenting the research problem, objectives, methodology, findings, and conclusions. It explains that a descriptive survey design was adopted using structured questionnaires administered to owners and managers of small-scale businesses in Ogbomoso. The findings reveal that budgeting, monitoring, customer feedback, and staff training are the most widely adopted risk management strategies. Regression analysis indicates that financial and operational risk strategies significantly improve business performance, while high implementation costs, inadequate information, limited skills, and weak government support hinder effective risk management.
