THE IMPACT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY ON BROADCAST OPERATIONS: A CASE STUDY OF TARABA TELEVISION, JALINGO
Abstract
This study investigates the impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on broadcasting operations in TTV Jalingo. The research adopts a descriptive survey design using interviews and questionnaires to collect data from staff and stakeholders. Findings reveal that ICT has significantly improved news production, storage, editing, and audience reach through digital platforms. However, challenges such as poor electricity supply, inadequate training, and data security risks hinder optimal utilization. The study concludes that ICT has a predominantly positive impact on broadcasting but requires improved infrastructure and capacity building to maximize its benefits.
