Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines audience perception of NTA 12 Uyo’s Fashion and Lifestyle programme, focusing on residents of three selected villages in Ikot Ekpene. The research aims to understand the extent of audience engagement, perceptions of the programme’s content, and its influence on fashion and lifestyle decisions. Grounded in the Social Learning Theory and Agenda-Setting Theory, the study employs a survey method to gather data from respondents, providing insights into their viewing habits, motivations, and attitudes toward the programme. The sample size for this study was 184 and data was collected through the use of questionnaire. A sample percentage and frequency count table was used for data analysis. The findings reveal that while a significant proportion of residents are aware of the programme, regular viewership varies due to factors such as competing schedules and accessibility. Participants generally perceive the programme as informative and entertaining, appreciating its emphasis on current fashion trends and lifestyle topics. Based on the findings, the study recommends incorporating more locally relevant fashion content, leveraging social media for audience interaction, and optimizing accessibility to improve viewership and impact.
