Abstract

This experiment was conducted to examine the growth performance of broiler chickens fed with dried cocoyam corm meal replaced with maize. One hundred day old chicks were used to conduct the experiment for a period of(six) 6weeks. The experiment showed that dried cocoyam corm meal did not influence the growth performance of broiler chicken. However the total feed intake, weekly feed intake, daily feed intake, feed gain ratio and feed efficiency were influenced by the inclusion of dried cocoyam corm meal in broilers diet. It could therefore be suggested that dried cocoyam corm meal could be used to replace maize meal without any effect on the performance of the birds up to 40% level of inclusion
