EFFECTS OF DRYING METHODS AND PROXIMATE ANALYSIS OF MORINGA OLEIFERA

Abstract

The result of this study show that the drying method used can affect the proximate composition of Moringa leaves, And also shows that the Moringa leaves are rich in nutrients, including protein, fiber and minerals. The protein content of Moringa make them excellent supplement for vegeterians and vegans. The fiber content of Moringa makes them a good source of dietry fiber. However, oven drying resulted in the highest protein and fiber contents, while sun drying had the lowest moisture contents. Shade drying had a higher retention than sun drying, indicating better retention of Moringa natural texture. These findings suggest that oven drying and shade drying are more effective methods for preserving the nutritional contents of Moringa. Furthermore, From the result obtained, shade dried treatment is significantly higher
