ANTIOXIDANT AND PHYTOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF CRUDE LEAF EXTRACT OF TAMARINDUS INDICA
Abstract
This work studied the ANTIOXIDANT AND PHYTOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF CRUDE LEAF EXTRACT
OF TAMARINDUS INDICA. It was confirmed that Tamorinches indica has high antioxidant effect/activity and as such is said
to be one of the most potent medicinal plant that possess such effect, and for this reason they are
said to be of high medicinal importance. The phytochemical analysis carried out in this study
confirmed the presence of essential secondary metabolite such as tannins, phenols, flavonoids,
anthraquinone and saponins alongside with polyphenols that are said to serve as antidiabetic,
anticancer and sorts of wound healing due to the presence of these essential secondary metabolite.
