Abstract

In 2013, the introduction of Computer Based Test (CBT) system was encouraging, thus many institutions adopted CBT for their internal examinations. Unfortunately CBT centers had problems in network connectivity among many other problems which caused inefficiency hence affected the performance of the candidates. This project is set to overcome such problems and set standards for establishing CBT Centers. It was designed based on network hierarchical design model, where the network was divided into discrete layers. Each layer in the hierarchy provides specific functions that define its role within the overall network with a Star 100mbps Ethernet Topology was adopted were each computer has a dedicated point-to-point link connection to only central devices. Using these methods a simulation of a standard CBT center was designed in which most of the problems were rectified.
