Abstract

This study evaluates the effects of ensiling maize cob and mucuna with poultry litter and graded levels of molasses on silage quality. Six treatments (T0–T5) with varying molasses levels (0–40 ml) were assessed for parameters such as moisture content, dry matter, crude protein, crude fiber, ether extract, ash, nitrogen-free extract, and metabolizable energy. Results showed that T4 (30 ml molasses) achieved optimal silage quality with higher nutrient retention and enhanced digestibility for livestock. The findings highlight the significance of poultry litter and molasses as additives in improving silage quality and preserving energy content for livestock feeding during the dry season.
