Abstract

ABSTRACT It was observed that this area of the world has serious power supply issues, with frequent outages and unstable electricity. Traditional reliance on fossil fuels increases these problems due to their high costs and environmental damage. To provide a dependable, economical, and ecologically responsible answer to the area's power issues, this project intends to create a hybrid power system that combines solar and wind energy with the help of this region's plentiful renewable resources. The materials and methods for this project included selecting and integrating solar panels and wind turbines that suit the local climatic conditions. Detailed assessments was conducted to determine best locations for the system installation. Economic analysis tools were used to evaluate the cost implications and financial viability, while environmental impact assessments quantified the benefits in terms of emission reductions and air quality improvements. During the morning, the input voltage and power were 168, 195, 159, 190, 191, 193, 192 V and 91, 94, 88, 89, 92, 91, 90 W, respectively, while the output voltage and power were 26.1, 27.0, 26.3, 27.0, 26.1, 27.0, 27.0 V, and 91, 89, 26, 85, 89, 90, 88 W, respectively. And during the afternoon, the input voltage and power were 196, 196, 194, 195, 191, 188, 199 V, and 103, 126, 113, 115, 105, 82, 100 W, respectively, while the output voltage and power were 27, 27, 27, 27, 27, 27, 27 V, and 103, 124, 112, 105, 104, 83, 83 W, respectively. In conclusion, this research work confirmed the viability of solar energy in a hybrid renewable system, particularly during peak sunlight hours. While the integration of the wind turbine was not achieved within the project timeframe, the solar system’s performance highlights the potential for future hybrid systems to offer more consistent and reliable energy production. Future work will focus on the wind component and optimization of the entire hybrid system.
