Abstract

This study investigates the effect of aging on zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles synthesized using the mechanochemistry route. Mechanochemical synthesis, a sustainable and efficient method, was employed to produce ZnO nanoparticles without the need for solvents. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized to evaluate changes in their structural and optical properties. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and UV-Vis spectroscopy were used to monitor phase stability, particle size, and optical band gap. Results revealed no significant variations in crystallinity and particle size distribution over the time, indicating no impact of aging on the nanoparticles’ physical and chemical properties. These findings are crucial for optimizing storage and application conditions of ZnO nanoparticles in fields such as electronics, and medicine.
