THE IMPACT OF FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION ON NIGERIA;A STUDY ON TWITTER BAN EXPERIENCE

The study investigated the impact of freedom of expression; a study on Twitter band experiences the objective of the study was to determine the impacts of Twitter ban on freedom of expression, investigates, the perception of Nigerian Twitter users on the Twitter ban, to determine how the ban dissemination of information, to understand nexus between freedom of expression, and Twitter, the scope of the study, A simple random technique was use for the study ,a total or 400 respondents opinion with a sampled via the use of questionnaire.Both descriptive, and inferential statistical technique we are adopted for the analysis specifically frequency, counts, simple percentages were used to analyze the data gathered for the study. Finding shows that the ban Twitter took away some level of expression on opinion on such platform totally for the period it stayed so, the study concluded the dynamics of the rights to freedom of expression has changed over the years from the terrestrial mode of communication to an absolute shift to virtual realities. This new method of communication has been adopted by the government,press and citizens. To aid Communication, many social networking sites have sprung up Over the years. Naturally, the study recommended that in the event of a similar case, the government should take steps other than upright banning of the platform because beyond in interaction, business exists on the platform that serve us a source of income.
