Abstract

Abstract This project provides an avenue for training learners the fundamental connectivity of solar system by designing and constructing a programmable logic solar trainer The approach leads to the design and construction of programmable logic solar trainer and avenue to demonstrate the series and parallel connection across the system, limiting the system in supporting 12V, 24V and 48V connections with respect to current, voltage and power. The programmable logic solar trainer introduces the fundamentals of a solar cell (photovoltaic Cell) and conversion of the suns photons into electrical energy. The trainer consists of structural components, mechanisms and control components that make the project successful. The trainers were designed to demonstrate the basic steps in solar system installation and maintenance, making it easier for solar technicians or candidates willing to study and differentiate the two (2) fundamental connections of solar panel and battery. The results were gathered by designing the demonstration board of series and parallel connections, avenue for demonstration of load analysis, design of logical programmable board, load evaluation and standard working procedure
