WILLINGNESS TO PAY FOR IMPROVED SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT DISPOSAL FACILITIES IN MINNA METROPOLIS
Abstract
This project explores the willingness to pay for enhanced solid waste management facilities in
Minna Metropolis. Through surveys and economic valuation methods, it aims to access the
communities readiness to invest in improved waste infrastructure. The study not only gauges the
monetary value citizens place on effective waste management but also analyzes factors influencing
their willingness to contribute. The study was carried out in Gurara, Rafi and Shiroro Local Government
Areas of Niger State, Nigeria, for this research primary source data were used and the respondents were
chosen using multi-stage sampling approach. The findings will inform policy recommendations for
sustainable waste management practices and infrastructure development in Minna.
