EVALUATING THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPACT OF SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES IN NIGERIA: A PATHWAY OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT (A CASE STUDY OF AREWA PRIME PROPERTIES KADUNA)
Abstract
The study evaluated the impact of SmallScale Industries on the Socio-economic Development of Nigeria with Arewa Prime Properties Kaduna as the case stud from 2019- 2023. The main objective of the study is to examine the impact of small scale industries on the socio-economic development of Nigeria. The research design that is adopted for the study is the descriptive research design. The reason is because in this method, the researcher uses questionnaire and interview to obtain valid and reliable information from the respondents. The population of the study is 305 and the sample size adopted for the study is 70 respondents. The instrument used for the collection of data is the structured questionnaire and the data collected was analyzed using simple frequency tables and percentage. One of the findings is that Small scale industries have a significant impact on the development of Nigerian Economy. The researcher recommends that Government should as a deliberate policy, encourage rural based industrialization whereby investors in different communities should be encourage to establish small and medium scale industries that would be based entirely on local raw materials, including machines and equipment 's.
