Abstract

ABSTRACT This project focuses on designing a system that is capable of displayingsomeinformation. The advent of new technologies has made informationinformofelectronic display in the world of advertisement and promotion. The P10LEDdot matrixdisplay is a display system which is used in information dissemination tolarger numberof audience within the location which it is situated. It has three sections; power, controland display. These could be grouped into two main part; the hardware andsoftware. The display system physically conveys set of programmed data on the controllercard, the hardware part comprises of numbers of LED module, power supplymodule, controller card and the casing. The software part is the part on the controller cardthatstores the received programmed data. It uses a volatile memory whichallowsreprogramming and memory formatting for maximum of 1000 times. Thecasingofthedisplay system board comprise of rectangular screwed and riveted aluminummaterial,a flat metallic zinc material is used to cover the back of the dot matrix bill boardwhilethe front is covered with a transparent plastic. The systemswitches onautomaticallywhenever it is plugged to the AC supply and it has a minimumefficient lifespanof50,000 hours (5-6 years) and a maximum viewing angle and distance of 140degreesand 25 meters.
