Abstract

The phytochemical analysis of Annona squamosa leaves revealed a rich profile of bioactive compounds, particularly phenols, saponins, and flavonoids. These compounds are known for their potential health benefits, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. Phenols, highest concentration (602.61±28.82mg/100g), potentially contributing to plant defense and food quality. Antioxidant activity, strong potential as indicated by the DPPH assay, reaching 96.17% inhibition at a concentration of 125 µg/ml. Elemental composition wide range observed, with calcium (74.57±28.82mg/100g) being the most abundant element and selenium (0.329±0.0146 mg/100g) the least. Therefore this study provides promising evidence for the potential medicinal and nutritional value of Annona squamosa leaves.
