Calcium nanoparticles(CaNPs) using agro wastewater for antimicrobial cold cream
formulation represents a promising approach in sustainable nanotechnology and cosmetic
development.This study aims to create a sustainable method for synthesizing calcium
nanoparticles from shea wastewater to develop antimicrobial cold cream formulations.The
cold
cream was formulated and evaluated physically by determing the
texture,homogenicity,colour,washability,PH and the spreading time of analysis was
recorded.The
formulated
cold
cream
was
evaluated
against
selected
microorganism(E.coli,P.aeroginosa,C.ablican, and S aureus).The biosynthesized CaNPs was
charaterized using UV-visible spectroscopy analysis.Cloudy appearance was observed during
the biosynthesis which show a positive sign that CaNPs synthesised effectively.All the
concentration for the cold cream appeared creamy.The physical evaluation for all the
concentration of the cold cream formulation show soft texture,cloudy colour and is
homogenous.The ph of all the concentration ranges from(8.63 to 8.65),while the spreading
time of all the concentration ranges from (2.8 to 5.2) seconds.The antibacterial and antifungal
activities of biosynthesized CaNPs exhibit zone of inhibition of 50mm&100mm
respectively.The UV-visible spectroscopy analysis of biosynthesized CaNPs exhibit an
absorption peak of wavelength which ranges from 250nm to 700nm.In conclusion,This
method provides a sustainable alternative to conventional synthesis techniques, potentially
reducing the environmental impact associated with Shea waste processing.
