Abstract

ABSTRACT Water, a vital resource for life, is often accessed through traditional methods that involve physical exertion. To streamline this process and conserve water, this project focuses on developing an automated solar-powered water pumping system. This system aims to eliminate the manual operation of water pumps, which can lead to inefficiencies and wastage. The methodology entails designing electronic circuits to precisely monitor water levels in both the storage tank and the source well. A microcontroller, acting as the system's brain, is programmed to activate or deactivate the pump based on these readings. This setup incorporates a microcontroller, non-invasive ultrasonic sensors for measuring water levels, an LCD display for providing real-time information, a relay for controlling the pump, and other essential components. The results of the project demonstrate the system's effectiveness in automatically managing the pumping process. When the water level in the tank reaches a predetermined minimum, the microcontroller activates the pump to replenish the supply. Conversely, when the maximum level is reached, the pump is automatically deactivated to prevent overflow. This innovative solution addresses the challenges associated with manual water pumping, reducing physical labor and promoting water conservation. By harnessing solar energy as a sustainable power source, the system contributes to environmental sustainability and reduces reliance on traditional energy sources.
