Abstract

Chickenpox which is also known as Varicella is a virus disease which is caused by a virus known to be Varicella-Zoster virus. Chickenpox is a contagious viral disease that affects mostly children. It’s symptoms includes an itchy rash on the body, with pink spots and tiny blisters filled with fluid that dries and become scabs four to five days after infection. Some Serious complications can occur mainly in people with a weak immune systems, infants, and adolescents. Aguegboh et al (2021). In this research work, a mathematical model for the transmission dynamics and control measures of chickenpox was done. Calculation of the contact number by applying the technique of next generation matrix method to find about infection dissemination as well as control in the population was done and it was concluded that the disease can be brought to an end. Also, the Endemic and Disease Free Equilibrium were examined. To control the dissemination of disease, analysis on various compartments was carried out and my conclusion is that with the implementation sufficient vaccination of susceptible individuals the disease will be substantially reduced to a low risk.
