Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project titled“A Historical Analysis of the Migration Pattern(s)and Settlements of Shuva Arabs in Borno State,Nigeria”.The objectives is to; examine the historical migration patterns and settlements of Shiwa Arabs in Borno State,analyze the impact of environmental and economic factors on the settlement patterns of the Shuwa Arabs and investigate the role of colonialism and modernization in shaping the migration and settlement patterns of the Shuwa Arabs.The study design and methodology is based on qualitative descriptive survey.The study used secondary sources and the data were sourced from academic articles,books and reports on Shuwa Arabs migration.The research found out that there the push factors that drive Shuwa Arabs to migrate to Borno State are environmental degradation,climate change,desertification and land degradation.Therefore,the research conclude and recommends that; government should implement policies and programmes that support climate resilient livelihoods for Shuwa Arabs communities such as climate-smart agriculture and livestock management and government should encourage inclusive policymaking processes that involve Shuwa Arab communities are taken
into account in policy development and implementation.
