DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF A SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM FOR ENSURING MAXIMUM SECURITY AND EFFICIENCY IN HOMES AND OFFICES.
Abstract
A surveillance system is a video collection device installed in a specific location and utilized for various purposes. Given the increasing frequency of burglaries, there is a critical need for an effective and reliable intrusion detection system with an alarm function. This project aims to design and install a system that captures and records moving images, transmits these images wirelessly, and includes functionality to alert the user immediately when unusual activity is detected.
The primary devices involved in the system are a Network Video Recorder (NVR) and a microcontroller. Additional components include cameras, hard drives, screens, modems, GSM modules, and motion sensors. The system is divided into two main components: CCTV and alerting. The camera captures real-time video footage of its surroundings, while the modem connects the NVR to a remote server. The captured videos are stored on the hard drive, with all CCTV operations managed by the NVR. The motion sensor detects intruders, and the SIM800L GSM module establishes a connection with the user's phone. Coordination of these activities is handled by the ATmega328 microcontroller.
The installation process involves strategically placing cameras to maximize coverage and improve the system's effectiveness. Connectivity is established through wireless communication protocols, enabling remote monitoring and control. The system's scalability allows for easy expansion and integration with existing security infrastructure.
