Abstract

This study examines the development of an interactive online marketing platform designed to bridge the gap between rural farmers and urban buyers in Nigeria. Addressing issues such as limited market access, post-harvest losses, and dependence on intermediaries, this platform enables farmers to list and promote their produce directly to consumers, thus facilitating a fairer marketplace. The platform's architecture includes secure user registration, product listing, real-time transaction processing, and analytics tools, promoting efficient transactions while enhancing transparency and traceability. By using technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL, this web-based system provides a scalable solution that expands farmers' reach beyond local markets, potentially increasing profitability and reducing waste. Through a user-friendly interface, the system empowers both farmers and consumers, fostering economic development and sustainability in Nigeria's agricultural sector. Recommendations for future development include national expansion, logistics partnerships, and infrastructure improvements to maximize the platform’s impact across Nigeria.
