DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM FOR UNIVERSITY INFORMATION
Abstract
The rapid advancement of digital technology has transformed how universities manage and share
information. This project focuses on designing and implementing a computerized system for
university information, offering a web-based platform for students, faculty, and prospective
applicants to easily access academic and institutional data. Developed with HTML5, CSS3,
JavaScript, and Bootstrap, the system is fully responsive across devices such as smartphones,
tablets, and desktops.
Key features include an index page for an overview of academic programs, detailed sections for
departments, campus life, alumni success stories, and news updates. Bootstrap ensures mobile
adaptability, while JavaScript adds interactivity for a better user experience. The academic
programs page allows users to quickly access information on undergraduate, postgraduate, part-
time, pre-degree, and JUPEB offerings. Testing confirmed the system’s functionality, usability,
and performance, with users praising its smooth navigation and responsive design.
However, the project has limitations due to its static nature, requiring manual updates and
lacking backend support. Future improvements could include adding a content management
system (CMS) and user authentication for dynamic data handling.
This project lays the foundation for a more efficient, centralized platform to manage university
information, enhancing user experience and contributing to digital transformation in education.
Further development could integrate real-time updates and personalized features, making it a
comprehensive tool for academic institutions.
