Abstract
ABSTRACT
The aim of the study was to investigate the perceptions of senior seconadary school students on the integration of social media for teaching Geography. To achieve this, a descriptive research method was used. Subjects were drawn from the two selected schools (Government secondary school [GSS] Gezawa and Government girls’ secondary school [GGSS] Gezawa), Using the purposive sampling technique. The study is guided by three research questions. The findings shows that senior secondary school students in Gezawa are constantly engaged with social media platforms, they consider its integration into geography teaching a valuable invention and view social media integration in geography education as being highly beneficial and impactful. To this effect, the researcher recommends integration of social media into geography education taking into accounts the actions to be taken to mitigate its negative impacts (side effects).
