MICRO AND MACRO FOSSILS OF LIMESTONE AND SHALE EXPOSED AROUND THE DUMBULWA HILLS, NORTHEASTERN NIGERIA
Abstract
This study focuses on the identification and classification of micro and macro fossils within limestone and shale exposed around the Dumbulwa Hills, northeastern Nigeria. Field mapping, sampling, laboratory mastration, and microscopic analysis were employed. The fossils, mainly ammonites, bivalves, and foraminifera, indicate Turonian shallow marine depositional environments within the Kanawa Member of the Pindiga Formation.
