Abstract

This project presents the design and construction of a robotic arm whiteboard cleaner, developed to reduce the stress and inefficiencies associated with manual cleaning in classrooms and offices. Traditional methods can be time-consuming, inconsistent, and inconvenient especially where boards are used frequently. To solve this, we built a robotic cleaning system using a two-joint robotic arm, controlled by an ATmega328P microcontroller, and powered by stepper motors and a rotating cleaning mechanism. A simple push-button interface allows users to initiate different cleaning modes, including partial and full-board cleaning. We tested the system thoroughly, checking both hardware and software performance. The results showed that the robotic arm cleaned effectively and consistently, returning to its starting point after each operation. Though still a prototype, the system demonstrates how robotics can be used to automate small but repetitive tasks in real-life settings.
