ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE AND EMPLOYEES COMMITMENT IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY ( A CASE STUDY OF KWASU VENTURES,MALETE)

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aimed to evaluate the relationship between organizational climate and employee commitment and to identify which factors of organizational climate have more impacts on employees’ commitment. Specifically the following specific objectives will be studied. Accordingly, three four dimensions of organizational climate and four dimensions of employees’ commitment were studied. The case study was Kwasu Ventures which was chosen because of its growth and development and the success it has recorded manufacturing safe food items like sachet water and bread. The descriptive survey research design was adopted for this study and the sample frame for the study comprised of ninety (90) employees ranging from top employees to lower level employees. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. The instrument for data collection was the questionnaire designed by the researcher. The collection of data was done personally and physically by visiting the study location, Kwasu Venture to administer the copies of the questionnaire to the sampled participants. To test the four hypotheses being raised to guide the research is regression analysis which showed a strong correlation between the variables of organizational climate and variables of employees’ productivity in Kwasu Ventures. Findings shows that work-life balance has impact on employees’ productivity in Kwasu Ventures, Work-Place safety influences employees’ absenteeism from work in Kwasu Ventures, work load/stress level impart prompt delivery of task by employees of Kwasu Ventures and that Communication pattern has a significant relationship with job satisfaction of employees in Kwasu Ventures. Based on the findings of the research, it was finally concluded that Finally it can be concluded that change in any aspect of organizational climate will impact on employee’s psychosocial wellbeing, eliminating fatigue, and work related stress which translated to change employee’s commitment and consequently their performance as findings indicated that organizational climate is an important factor affecting employees’ commitment to duty in the organization. Recommendations like good work life balance practices, ensuring safety of workers while at work and reducing loads of work through shifting were put forward to help the organization and others to create a suitable organization climate for workers which will help motivate them to be more committed to organizational goal of the firm were put forward.
