TRADITIONAL BIRTH PRACTICES AND ITS IMPLICATION TO WOMEN OF CHILDBEARING AGE IN AHIAZU MBAISE IMO STATE
Abstract
The main aim of this study is to assess traditional birth practices and it's implication to women of childbearing age in AHIAZU MBAISE IMO STATE. Three objective were formulated to assess the level of utilisation of traditional birth practices and attendant among women of childbearing age, the factors influencing use of traditional birth practices among women of childbearing age, and the health implication of traditional birth practices among women of childbearing age. The study employed a quantitative descriptive survey design using a self-designed questionnaire. 170 respondents were selected using simple random sampling techniques. The data was descriptively summarised with the use of frequency, percentage and table.
