Abstract

The increasing need for efficient and secure communication within academic institutions calls for innovative networking solutions. This project focuses on the design and simulation of a secure communication system between university departments using VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) segmentation. By utilizing VLAN technology, the proposed system ensures isolated network traffic, reducing the risk of unauthorized access and enhancing data security. This research outlines the key aspects of VLAN segmentation, including network efficiency, reduced broadcast traffic, and scalability, to streamline communication between departments. The design also incorporates secure message transmission, improving workflow and eliminating the need for manual message delivery. The project simulates real-world scenarios within the university environment to demonstrate the system’s effectiveness. This structured approach ensures the secure exchange of information while maintaining network efficiency, positioning VLAN as a robust solution for academic institutions seeking improved internal communication.
