SMALL SCALE BUSINESS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN ANIOCHA SOUTH LGA(A SURVEY OF SELECTED SMALL SCALE BUSINESS IN AZAGBA
Abstract
This study examines the role of small-scale businesses in promoting economic development in Aniocha South Local Government Area, with a specific focus on selected enterprises in Azagba community. The research explores how small-scale businesses contribute to job creation, income generation, poverty reduction, and overall community development. Using a survey design, data were gathered from owners and operators of various small-scale enterprises to assess their contributions, challenges, and growth prospects. Findings reveal that small-scale businesses significantly enhance local economic activities by providing employment opportunities, stimulating trade, and supporting household livelihoods.
