Abstract

This study examines the role of local government administration in promoting rural development in Nigeria. The creation of local governments aims to decentralize administration, ensuring efficient delivery of services to grassroots communities. Despite this, rural areas remain underdeveloped, highlighting the need to assess local government performance. The research explores the challenges and opportunities in local government administration, with a view to identifying solutions for effective rural development.
