Abstract

ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic syndrome with a number of different etiologies. It severely affects the life of patients and heightens the risk of developing other diseases. It is characterized by abnormal carbohydrate, lipid, and protein catabolism and anabolism due to insulin resistance or hypo insulinism. The aim of this project work id to evaluate the “Effects of Bioactive Component of Desert Date (B Aegytiaca) Seeds Modulation of Assay Insulin Levels In Diabetes”. The sample of Balanites Aegyptiaca was collected from tudun wada market. The selected fruit was kept in a good condition to ensure consistency in bioactive compound content. The seed(s) was carefully separated from the fruit for further analysis of its bio active components. The result shows that the diabetic rats showed a highly significant decrease in the insulin levels in serum. The treatments of the diabetic rats with seed extracts caused a highly significant increase in these lowered levels. The data indicates that insulin levels vary significantly across the treatment groups. Ethanolic extract (ETH) demonstrated the highest insulin elevation (113.08 pg/mL), suggesting a potentially strong insulinotropic effect, possibly even exceeding that of the standard drug Metformin (68.31 pg/mL). The negative control group (NEG) consistently showed lower insulin levels (31.69–50.77 pg/mL), confirming the baseline response. Its concluded that based on the insulin level results as discussed in chapter 4, it can be concluded that: The ethanol extract of Desert Date seeds shows promise in affecting insulin levels, potentially comparable to metformin. The aqueous extract also demonstrates some potential, although the effect may be slightly lower. It’s recommended to; Conduct additional studies to: Investigate the dose-response relationship between the extracts and insulin levels. Examine the mechanisms underlying the potential antidiabetic effects of the extracts. And compare the efficacy and safety of the extracts with established antidiabetic medications. And Investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying the potential antidiabetic effects of the extracts, including their impact on insulin signaling pathways and glucose metabolism.
