A LEXICO-SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF GOVERNOR BABAGANA UMARA ZULUM'S 2023 INDEPENDENCE SPEECH
Abstract
The present study explores lexical semantic features in Governor Babagana Umara Zulum 2023 independence speech to examine meaning based on Independent Computational Theory. The objectives of the study include word form, meaning, and connotation. A qualitative method is used for data collection and analysis. The findings show 66 lexical items in 2023 independent Speech. Semantically, it reveals patterns of clarity, ambiguity, or emphasis, allowing us to assess the extent to which the speech reflects his policy objectives, political agenda, or public image. Lexically, collocation was found in 6 items. Protection and security were found to be more frequent than other lexical items.
