STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVING EMPLOYEES MORALE AND PRODUCTIVITY IN AN ORGANIZATION (A CASE STUDY OF COLLEGE OF HEALTH TECHNOLOGY, MICHIKA)
Abstract
The study examines the Strategies for improving employees’ morale and productivity in an organization” (A case study of College of Health Technology, Michika). The population of the study was 193. The type of the research design used was survey research. The researcher used the primary source in obtaining the relevant data used in the course of the study. The primary data was collected using the instrument of questionnaire. The researcher used t-test in the testing of the hypothesis formulated while simple percentage was used in analyzing the research questions. The finding of the research study was that good leadership, that prompt payment of employee’s salary, provision of Incentives, good working relationship, organizing seminar and workshop are good strategies that increasing employee’s morale and productivity in an organization, bad working environment, lack of good communication, lack of care about employee’s welfare, bias or favoritism, bad working condition, are common issues that affect employees morale and productivity in an organization, lack of Job Satisfaction, communication and clear instruction, trust and team work, disrespecting an employees, lack of training and appreciation to employees, unrealistic goal setting by the organization, bad working relationship, lack of promotion or award and delay on payment of employees serves as an obstacles that hinder employees' morale and productivity in an organization. The researcher recommended that Prompt payment of employees’ salary should be maintained so as employees’ morale and productivity can be boost, leadership and good working relationship with employees should be maintain to increase their morale and productivity and good communication should be maintain in an organization for better understanding within the employees.
