DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF SOLAR POWERED ELECTRONIC SCARECROW SYSTEM
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project presents the design and construction ofa solar-powered electronic scarecrow system
intended to protect farmlands from birds and small animals. The system utilizes a Passive Infrared
(PIR)sensor to detect motion and automatically trigger a DFPlayer Mini MP3 module that plays
pre-recorded sounds such as predator calls or loud human noises through a speaker amplified by
an audio amplifier. The seup is powered bya 5W solar panel connected to a rechargreable lithium-
ion battery with a battery management system, ensuring continuous operation without dependency
on grid power. The integration ofmotiondetection and sound deterrents provides an intelligent,
cost-effective, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional scarecrow methods. Field tests
demonstrated the system's effectiveness in reducing animal interference, confìrming its potential
as a reliable toolfor modern precision farming.
