Abstract

The design and construction of a baking oven is an important development in food processing technology, especially for small-scale and medium-scale bakeries. This project focuses on the design, fabrication, and performance evaluation of a baking oven using locally available materials to achieve cost efficiency, durability, and effective heat distribution. The oven was designed to provide uniform temperature control suitable for baking bread and other confectioneries. Key components considered include the heating chamber, insulation materials, temperature control system, and structural framework. The constructed oven was tested for functionality, heat retention, and baking efficiency, and the results showed satisfactory performance with consistent heat distribution and reduced heat loss. This project demonstrates that a functional baking oven can be designed and constructed locally at a lower cost while maintaining good baking performance.
