Abstract

Abstract This study examines the influence of television advertisement on the buying choices of sanitary pads among students of Bayero University Kano. The research aims to determine how television advertising affects awareness, perception, brand preference, and purchasing decisions among female students. A quantitative research design was adopted, using structured questionnaires to collect data from a representative sample of students. Findings from the study reveal that television advertisements play a significant role in creating awareness and shaping attitudes toward different sanitary pad brands. Factors such as advertisement frequency, message content, celebrity endorsement, and visual appeal were found to strongly influence students’ preferences and purchase behavior. Additionally, the study indicates that while television advertising impacts initial product awareness, other factors such as price, product quality, and peer influence also contribute significantly to final buying decisions.
