Abstract

ABSTRACT The study was designed to investigate the Effect of real world application on student's academic performance in chemistry among post Basic Education in Fagge local government, Kano. Four research objectives, research questions as well as research hypothesis were formulated to guide the study. Quasi experimental research design was adopted and the sample size consists of one hundred and sixty two (162) students extracted from SS 2 students in four (4) selected Post Basic Education at Fagge Local Government, Kano State. For the purpose of collecting data in this research, a questionnaire was used for collecting data for the study. The students taught different topic with the use of Real World Application. The research find out that, Real World Application has great effect on Students Attitude, Mindfulness and Interest in Organic Chemistry, because it increase motivation, and students’ engagement and promote communication skills. Based on these results it is recommended that Chemistry teacher should consider Real world application as core in teaching and learning Chemistry connected with cognitive skills dimension among post basic students’ academic performance.
