Abstract

ABSTRACT This study focused on isolating and morphological characterizing endophytic bacterial strains resident with Moringa Oleifera in Maiduguri initially, plants samples underwent surface sterilization to eliminate epiphytic microorganisms. Subsequently cultural on nutrient Agar yielded diverse bacterial colonies, indicative of Moriga Oleifera’s rich endophytic bacterial diversity. Morphological Characterization encompassed examining cultural properties, including shape, colour, and microscopic features, such as motility, Gram reaction and cell shape. Biochemical tests identified bacteria capable of Citrate utilization, hydrogen and supplied production and indole production. Phyogenetic analysis, facilitated by 16S Rdna sequencing, enabled identification and classification of isolated bacteria. Results revealed Staphylococcus, Bacillus and Pseudomonas as predominant endophytes, exhibiting potential application in agricultural enhancement through plant growth promotion and disease resistance, medical utility vi antimicrobial compound production, biotechnology innovation through enzyme and bioactive compound production and biotechnological innovation through enzymes and endophytic bacterial biotechnology. The findings provides valuable insights into harnessing endophytic bacteria for improved agricultural practices, novel antimicrobial agents and innovative bio products.
