DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN AUTOMATED PAYROLL SYSTEM USING HUMAN RESOURCE (HR) DEPARTMENT, FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OFFA KWARA STATE
Abstract
An automated payroll system is a computerized system designed to process employee compensation and related information. Payroll management is a critical organizational function that involves calculating and disbursing employee salaries accurately while complying with legal requirements. It includes various features such as employee information management, calculation of the payroll and generation of the pay slip. Traditional manual payroll processes are time-consuming, error-prone, and inefficient, leading to challenges such as inaccuracies, compliances issues, and difficulties in managing employee records. To address these issues, this study focuses on the design and implantation of an automated payroll system, a modern solution that streamlines and automates payroll processes. The proposed system leverages advanced algorithms and software capabilities to automate tasks such as salary computation, tax deductions and generation of pay slip. In this project, we will discuss extensively on the historical evolution of payroll systems, transitioning from manual processes to modern cloud –based and AI –enhanced solutions. It discusses the benefits of automation, including increased efficiency, accuracy, and employee satisfaction while also comparing the technology alternatives option and the future potential of payroll technologies. As technology advances, automated payroll systems continue to evolve, enabling new forms of efficiency, accuracy, and integration in payroll management.
