Abstract

This study investigates using groundnut shell ash groundnut shell ash as a partial replacement for cement in sand Crete blocks. Groundnut shell ash was replaced at varying percentages (0-50%) and tested for physical and mechanical properties. Results shows that 10% groundnut shell ash replacement improves workability, but beyond 10% it decreases Compressive strength decreases with increasing groundnut shell ash replacement, with significant loss beyond 20% Optimal replacement percentage for workability is 10-20%, and for compressive strength is up to 10% The study concludes that groundnut shell ash can be used as a partial cement replacement, but its percentage should be carefully managed to ensure optimal performance and durability, promoting sustainable and eco-friendly construction practices.
