EFFECTIVENESS OF RADIO CAMPAIGN AGAINST GENDER BASED VIOLENCE IN DELTA STATE: A STUDY OF OGWASHI-UKU
Abstract
This study is aimed at assessing the effectiveness of radio campaign against gender, based violence in Delta state. To achieve the objective of this study, the researcher used the survey research design as the research methodology and randomly sampled 300 respondents. The questionnaire was used as instrument to collect primary data from the respondents and the data collected were subjected to empirical analysis using tables and simple percentages. Based on data analysis, the study found among others, that gender violence is an ugly trend that has besieged the entire world and particularly the Nigerian society and thus recommended that the mass media in Nigeria need to develop gender sensitization programmes that community members can identify themselves with.
